Why not the regular Spark instead, since you will already have the
SCSI on the MB...?

No - but a pair of UDMA IBM Deskstar 14's will cost about the same
total, do not need the Fastrack, and give you 28+ gigs... Capture to
one, edit to the other (though editing to the same drive having the
original material on it is OK...).
