If the Adaptec card comes with good capture/play software for mini-DV,
and with the DV-Soft plug-in for Premiere to make it useable with
DV-AVI files, you could buy the card and editing software separately.
If you look at the prices of the separate pieces (and the potential
aggravation...), the bundle can look cheap...
