No. It is, I gather, a characteristic of late Sony Hi-8
and D8 camcorders (it would be nice if Sony put out
the much better TR-700 Hi-8 in a D8 version - its image
quality was quite good. Quality is going down toward the
end of Hi-8 (maybe to make people think entry-level
one-chip Mini-DV is so much better...;-).
