The format quality is the same, but many of the D8 cameras
are considered "entry-level" and have inferior quality
output compared with the better, more expensive one-CCD
Mini-DV camcorders. The potential is the same for both,
though, except for size...

?????? D8 uses Hi-8 tape; Mini-DV uses Mini-DV (6mm) tape...

Depends on what you value most among size, price, quality of
picture, quality of sound, etc...
