Canopus Raptor: fast, high-quality-rendering codec,
problem-free card, SHARP hardware overlay of preview
(along with TV-out), good software - jes' plain gud!
I used the DPS Spark before - slower-rendering (with
darker, greener rendered footage), a pain to set up
(very gear-sensitive, and DPS hadn't a clue about
compatible HDs, etc.), poor software, but eventually
useable... (BTW, old Spark cards are useable as OHCI
cards with Premiere 6 ;-). I just bought a few Raptor
cards since Canopus just discontinued them, and I
have little interest in "part-time" "real-time"
systems, especially ones that compromise preview or
finished-video quality... It is unlikely that you
would be unhappy with any Canopus products (just try
to find complaints about them in these NGs...! ;-).
