"Bottom line": unless you have need of the particular
few advantages offered by the GL-1 compared with the
VX-2000, the VX2000 is in almost every respect at
least somewhat better for most purposes than the GL-1,
at very close to the same price. (I trust I'm being
"clear"...;-) For the background info which leads
me to this conclusion, see the URL, above...;-)
As a "sop" to those who are deeply offended by what
I have just written, I add: the differences are
generally not "night and day", but cumulatively,
one camera is generally better overall than the
other, and a better buy. Note, too, that I am not
(nor have I ever) recommended that Canon owners sell
their cameras and buy the Sony; nor have I ever
"trashed" anyone for their choices, though they may
be different from mine (see rest of this thread for
indications of why I added this silly second part...;-).
