In answer to your header question: No, but they are (generally)
very good, and (roughly) the equal of other top sets of lenses,
though there appear to be a few "L" lenses that are not equal
in image quality to the others. The rest of the Canon lens
line appears to be somewhat variable in quality, having
some first-rate lenses, and some that are not - and
the image quality does not always seem to be
related to the price, unfortunately.
