I was a bit surprised here by a recent experience...
I replaced a 300MHz Celeron A clocked at 450MHz with
a Pentium III 800MHz (Raptor, Premiere 5.1, no other
changes but the CPU, and MB from an Asus P2B to an
Abit BH6 rev.2), and found that a 10-second cross
dissolve that took 45 seconds with my cheap old CPU
took 30 seconds with the new - somewhat more time
than I was expecting, sigh...! ;-)
