Hi--

Would you happen to know of an online resource that explains how camcorder CCDs work. I d like some more
in-depth info on the process of capturing video, and stills and how chip size relates to video quality and such. A page
targeted toward the layman would be cool. I just got done with finals and my brain is fried. ?
"David Simpson"

I don't off-hand...
It appears *in general* that smaller pixel size = worse low-light
ability; fewer pixels for a given area, or a larger area for the CCD
with the same pixel count = better sensitivity but worse resolution
in the first case; pixel off-set helps resolution without hurting
sensitivity but at the cost of edge artifacting and uneven resolution
with color change; "HAD" chips have better sensitivity (all else equal),
and maybe better color, but with a few minor drawbacks besides cost...
Thet'z 'bout it fer wha' I heer...;-)
