You might want to consider the new Bogen Junior(Mini)
Geared head. I just got one about a week ago and am so
far very impressed. It is a 3-way head which uses
three geared knobs for fine adjustments but also has
releases to allow large adjustments. It allows more
precise control than any other type of head I can think
of. In addition, the knobs are very compact, much
better than pan-tilt. I really can't imagine much
better for architecture. Make sure you play with one
in the store before you buy anything else. Current
price from B&H is $140.00.
