(I find hand-holding with flash an easier solution for fairly
high-magnification [1X-3X] macro work...;-) I was wondering about
a geared head, so I was interested in what you had to say, above.
I have the B1, and while I much prefer it to a pan-tilt head,
it is still not ideal. I am considering replacing it with a
video fluid head (with a flip-over, for verticals), expensive as
that solution is (I need it for video work anyway, and it can
move the camera smoothly to the desired position, then hold even
a heavy camera without being locked [which with most heads results
in at least a slight shift in position, darn!]). Anyone wanna
nice B1? ;-)
