I have better results than this. Are you stretching out
the mic cord? It is the antenna, BTW... Do you have a clear
visual shot between transmitter and receiver? Have you tried
reorienting the sending and receiving antennae? Are you in
a steel building when there is a problem? Near cel phones?
In a "broadcast-rich" area? Have you tried both frequencies?
(They must be the same for both transmittter and
receiver...) Also, try listening to the actual recording
from tape - often the headphone-monitored audio sounds
FAR worse than what is on tape (this continues to amaze
me...;-).
