The F2A/F2AS do not meter-couple with non-AI lenses - stop-down reading
is required for metering with them; the "A" F2's do meter couple with
AI, AIS, E, AF, and P lenses. Older (non-AI) bodies will meter-couple
with non-AI, AI, and most AIS lenses, but not E, AF, and P, which require
stop-down metering. F2A, F2AS, F3, FM, FE, Nikkormat FT3, Nikkormat EL-2
(which are all AI bodies) do allow the AI body tab to be moved out of the
way so that non-AI lenses will physically fit on the body (stop-down
metering is used with non-AI lenses). Hope this isn't TOO confusing!
Hope This Helps
