Hi--

I thought I had zillions of posts on this, but couldn't find them.
AI vs. AIS:
---AI:
-Non-cammed aperture actuator, so the cameras that use that feature
for S and P modes can't establish exactly what aperture is going
to be used on the lens.
-One hold-back pin in focus mount, instead of two.
-Focus ring moves forward with close focus.
---AIS:
-Has "scoop" in rear surface of bayonette to cue some bodies that
the lens is AIS, for program shifting with FL, and for not pre-exposure
aperture checking with AIS lenses in P and S modes.
-Has orange min aperture for S and P mode use.
It doesn't make any practical difference, generally.
All AIS, AF, E, P, I, S lenses are AIS.
