No, since I cannot justify replacing small, light, and very sharp
Nikkor AIS 20mm f2.8, 24mm f2.8, 28mm f2.8, and 35mm f1.4 and f2
lenses with a bulky, expensive, probably optically inferior (to
the above lenses) zoom, when I find short zooms more awkward
and slow to use than primes. If you must shoot from a fixed
location, short zooms are useful - otherwise, I find that they
are not, in my work.
> 2.)35~70 f/2.8 zoom
Yes, but I find this lens very uninteresting, having little range
and so-so performance, given its size, price and speed (compared
with primes, like a 35mm f2 or f1.4, any 50mm, and any 85mm).
> 3.)80~200 f/2.8 zoom
Yes - in the tele range (where feet are less effective than a
zoom...), the big, heavy, expensive, but very sharp Nikkor zoom
is useful (I sold my 180mm f2.8 in favor of this one). It is also
excellent from one stop down used with the TC14/14B/14C
teleconverters, for additional versatility.
