In the Nikon line, any AI lens (with ridges on the rearward-facing
edge of the aperture ring, as opposed to no ridges on non-AI lenses)
will fit and function on any Nikon body. The 75-300 will work fine on
the manual Nikon bodies you mentioned. What you refer to may be the
better feel and sometimes easier manual focus of MF lenses as opposed
to AF lenses, but the better AF lenses (like the 75-300...) also work
fine as MF lenses.
