I don't remember this particular camera's AF characteristics
(other than I liked its picture about the most of any one-chip
Hi-8's), but common in Hi-8 cameras was a tendency
of the AF to "wiggle" things occasionally to check the focus
even though nothing had changed. Most annoying. AF has come
a long way since, and the AF in the best Mini-DV camcorders
(the VX-2000 especially) is really excellent.
