My experience is different - which is why I dislike AF...
(about 1/3-1/2 the time, I can "clearly" see the slight
error of the AF ['course it sure helps to have a sharp
VF image in the AF camera - something that is becoming
rather rare...] - the F5 is the one exception I've seen,
since it appears to hit focus correctly most of the time
[and it has a sharp enough finder image to be able to
tell...;-]). So, my answer to the original question is,
"Absolutely not!" ;-)
