Amazing! I have had MANY of them, and almost all were gems - fine wide-open,
superb stopped down a bit - and with VERY little tendency to flare (unlike
the sharp earlier 85mm f1.8...). I have a selected sample of the fine 85mm
f1.4 MF Nikkor, but I generally prefer to use the equally good (but much
smaller and lighter...) 85mm f2 Nikkor... BTW, the f2 version slightly
beats the AF f1.8 version in the corners wide open near infinity, but the
AF version is better at wide apertures near minimum focus distance...
All the Nikkor 85mm's are outstanding lenses.
