I'll "third" that - I've used a pair of 8008's commercially as compact
motor-driven manual cameras with wonderful TTL flash capabilities (with SB-24's), nice sharp viewfinders, and fine manual exposure control,
for a few years now (I never use AE or AF with these, and the manual
exposure and focus with the 8008's is excellent).
