If you are looking for a reasonably compact, reasonably sturdy
motorized manual body (though it is capable of AE and AF) with
TTL flash ability, it is hard to beat the 801 (8008). If you are
looking for all the latest Nikon bells and whistles plus slightly
improved AE and AF, the higher price of the f90 (N90) may be worth
while (though I prefer the 4-stop exposure range in the finder of
the 8008 to the mere two stops shown in the N90 and F4 [though
I get along just fine with the 0-stop exposure range in the F3,
so I guess it doesn't really matter all that much....]).
