Hmmm, this is a new one to me, and I own two 8008's which
I use for shooting people commercially.....(with no problem
with delay - heck, I've caught baseballs in the air in front
of bats with them.....[MF, of course!]), and I have owned
several others. I suspect that yours may have a problem
needing repair. BTW, one important difference for me
between the 8008 and 8008s (since I don't use AF, or
spot-meters) is the center-weighted meter patch pattern
- in the 8008, it is roughly a circle about the same size
as the large circle in the finder; in the 8008s, it is
a doughnut-shaped patch [with a dead center]).
