No, but it is difficult without using a quick release plate without a
lip to avoid rotation of the camera on the plate when shooting verticals
(Really Right Stuff sells compact, well-made plates with an edge lip
[custom for each camera model] that prevents rotation). Even with the
RRS plate, vertical orientation of the camera is less stable than it
would be with a rotating lens bracket for the 80-200. (I may have to
break down and buy the Kirk, alas, for the one type of job I do that
requires tripod mounted vertical orientation with the 80-200mm f2.8
[all my other work with that lens can be done hand-held].)
