The Nikkor TC14/14B works very well with the 80-200mm f2.8 AF non-D
Nikkor (the optics may be the same in the D version), giving a fine
image by f4. The rare TC14C is slightly better at the edges/corners
at wide apertures. The TC14A is designed for lenses with the glass
closer to the rear of the lens (and may cut light more than the usual
one stop). The TC300/301 will not fit. The TC200/201 will work, but
the image quality is not sufficiently good for my tastes. Image
quality with the TC14C is equal to the best primes by f4 - not bad
for a converter-zoom combination!
