The 60mm f2.8 Micro-Nikkor is a really excellent macro lens, with
excellent performance down to 1:1 (and it is even first-rate on the
TC 201 2X converter at f11 or so), but its infinity performance is
not ideal - at f11 it is excellent to the corners, but at wider
apertures, the corners soften, becoming unacceptable to me around
f5.6 (ANY Nikkor 50mm will outperform the 60mm at wider apertures
near infinity). At mid distances, the 60mm should perform quite well.
Hope This Helps
