Yes and no...;-)
A 50mm f1.8 or f1.4 is "faster", allowing photos to be
taken at a given shutter speed and with a given film speed
in slightly less light. A 60mm macro will focus closer.
Near infinity focus, the Nikkor 50mm lenses will produce
sharper frame corners at stops wider than about f8-11 than
the macro lens (though at middle and close distances, the
macro lens may outperform the 50s). As far as shooting with
both, the angles of view are very similar for both...
