(Oops! I forgot your other two questions.) Resolution at optimum distances (mirrors are more distance-sensitive for sharpness that
most standard long tele designs) of the best 2 or 3 mirror lenses
can approach that of fine standard teles, though with slightly
lower contrast. I have gotten some fine, snappy, detailed full
bleed 8 1/2" x 11" magazine covers using the older 500mm Nikkor f8.
(I was using K64 on a short, weighted tripod for the covers - the interior stories were mostly shot with Tri-X hand-held.) The
perspective of all lenses (setting linear distortion aside) is
dependent on angle of view, not the construction of the lens.
