Unless you are buying it for a "shelf" (show camera - not for use)
camera, the price I would pay is no more than the price I could
IMMEDIATELY sell it for - IT S T I N K S ! Bleah! Yuck! Pah!
Nikon has made VERY few even second-rate lenses, but this one
is fifth-rate, bottom-of-the-barrel quality level for ANY manufacturer.
I recommend avoiding the 43-86mm in all its poor incarnations.
