Surprisingly well, if stopped down a bit - but, then, the 400mm f3.5
is also excellent on the TC14/14B/C and TC300/301....
(The AIS filter-threaded version of the 300mm f2.8 I had was really
excellent by f4 (5.6) on the TC14C, and by f5.6 (11) on the TC300 -
hard to tell from the best primes alone.)
