My guess is that the one marked "AIS", with CRC, is the current 8-element lens that has been available for some time, and the
"D" and "new" are typo's (I hope - that lens is superb, don't
change it, Nikon!) The f2.8 AF (5-element, and definitely not one
of Nikon's better endeavors), and the new 6-element 28mm f2.8 AF D's
are different lenses, and a good reason to stay with MF! ;-)
