Hmmm, the 28mm f2.8 MF AI did not have CRC (and also was not an
outstanding lens, except that it was VERY resistent to flare).
The 8-element 28mm f2.8 MF AIS does have CRC (and is a really
outstanding lens [though not necessarily because of the CRC]).
The first AF 28mm f2.8 had 5 elements (no CRC), and was identical optically to the one poor E Series lens: the 28mm f2.8. The AF "D" version has 6 elements (no CRC?), but I have not tried it, so
cannot comment on how well it performs.
