This was not one of Nikon's better (or even low-average ;-) efforts.
Most samples of the the Nikon E 28mm f2.8 (and similar AF non-D) that
I have seen were poor, with a couple of them good over much of the
frame when stopped down, but even then, they were not sharp over the
whole frame. Unless you cannot afford better, and the price is low,
I would avoid it. BTW, the AIS 28mm f2.8 is really excellent.
