Hmmm, I thought I pointed out their similarity....;-)
The optics of the Nikkor 28mm f2.8 E and 28mm f2.8 AF non-D are miserably,
and inexplicably, identical (except for multi-coating on the AF - which is
not very important with so few elements being used...). There are varying accounts about whether the AF-D has added a 6th element and CRC - if so,
it may be decent/good.
