Thanks for the info. I never found the E/AF 28mm objectionable
in distortion (few Nikkors are), just in (lack of) sharpness.
And very few lenses are as sharp as the MF AI-S 28mm f2.8. (I
heard it was just discontinued - I would grab one while they
are still available, if anyone is looking for a great 28mm,
and we should all holler at Nikon for discontinuing this one!)
