Um, did you look at my Nikkor evaluation list...?

This lens was a BIG step up from the non-D
AF version (and the same-optic'd E version),
but still well short of the AIS (MF) version.
It is a snappy lens, but the edges/corners aren't
what they should be - stopped well down, they are
OK (but I expect better than this from non-zooms...).
Of the lenses you mention, the 20 is the best,
followed reasonably closely by the 24, with the 28
considerably behind (even with the price difference,
the 20 is the bargain lens...;-). Maybe pair the
20mm with a 35mm, or just get the 24mm...
