You can find my Nikkor *SUBJECTIVE* evaluations on my web
page under "I babble"... The short of it is, though, that I think the
28mm f2.8 AF is one of Nikon's very few poor lenses - but a
good sample, well stopped down, can be good over most of
the frame. The AF-D is noticeably improved, though I prefer
the AIS 28mm f2.8, or AI/AIS 28mm f2 or f3.5. If you can afford
it, I hear the AF 28mm f1.4 is rather good...;-) I would also
avoid the non-AI 28mm f3.5 and the non-AI/AI 28mm f2.8
Nikkors, though, if you value fine edge/corner performance...
