It is a very good lens, especially at f5.6 and smaller stops.
(Both the Nikkor 20mm f2.8 and *AIS* 28mm f2.8 are slightly
better optically, I think, but you should be happy with the
24mm.) I have not used it, but from what some others have
said, I would consider trying the 24-50mm f3.3-4.5 AF also.
