In article <5hrkcn$svk$5@nntp.ucs.ubc.ca>, peter@ares.ubc.ca says...

>Anyone own this new lens? A colleague of mine told me about it, and says
>that it's a good deal for the money, but I haven't seen it around in catalogs.
>Does it exist and how good is it compared to primes like 24mm and 105mm?

I wrote a review of it, which appears, along with another review, at:
http://www.cs.berkeley.edu/~qtluong/photography/35mm/24-120.html
I wound up selling the lens, though it was one of the VERY few good
wide-to-tele zooms I have seen, due to reservations about wide[r]
aperture edge/corner performance (I am a nut about that..., and
therefore prefer primes...;-). If f11 is OK for most of your
work, the Nikkor 24-120 is a really excellent lens,
even in comparison with primes...
Hope This Helps
