Actually, that's a 24-120mm Nikkor...
And it should easily outperform the Tamron...

28-85mm Nikkor...? I don't think that there is a 24-85mm...

As in, "last, but not least"...;-) I would first select for sharpness
(who knows from the photograph what else is involved, but if the
image is not sharp, that, ahem, MAY, to SOME people..., be obvious...;-).
Either lens (or any other) will work fine with the flash, and both
will provide the (rarely important) "D" feature. AF works well enough
with the 24-120mm.
