Ah, sigh......!!!! ;-)
Tests.........!!! ;-)
Umm, then how come the Sigma is not known as one of the best
24mm's around, and the Nikkor is.....? ;-)
Early on, when I pored over Modern Photography lens "tests",
then went out and bought some of the "gems", I discovered
something interesting: something was wrong, since many of
these supposed gems were really terrible lenses, and the
often "so-so" -testing Nikkors were really good! (Still
trying to figure it out....! ;-) Currently, when I'm really
familiar with how Nikkors and others perform that are "tested"
by Pop photo and others, I can smile...;-) BTW, you may have
fun with my SUBJECTIVE Nikkor evaluation list, on my web page
under "I babble"... Another solution; buy the Sigma from a
dealer that will exchange it, and check it out. If you are
satisfied with poor corners/edges (you may be, if you like
the 28-70...;-), keep it; if not, return it for the Nikkor...
(If you do, it may give you a taste for the better image
quality of Nikkor non-zooms, though...! ;-)
