****GUESSING****, I would say that even a mediocre
20X lens on a so-so imaging device will outperform
a top-quality 10X lens on an excellent imaging device,
with 2x digital magnification of the image - BUT,
adding a top-quality 1.7X or 2X tele lens converter
to the second choice ***MAY*** outperform the first...
In other words, it is really hard to compare theoretical
gear, and a quick comparison of real gear will give
you a better answer...;-)
