Assuming this lens is a "normal" sample (I accept slight
infinity-focus error as normal with this particular lens,
but not image edge-alignment problems...), it is one of
Nikon's GREAT lenses! Imagine a lens that can take in the
angle of view of this one, yet remain sharp and contrasty
to the corners, with good illumination, WIDE-OPEN! It is
noticeably better at wide stops than the f2.8 version,
is a "speed" lens in that it is good at f3.5 and can be
hand-held easily at 1/8th - 1/4 second speeds, and it is
also compact and easy to use. It also is very fine on
the TC14A converter by f5.6, making a great super-wide
"kind-to-people" lens, with moderate curvature. If I did
not already have one of these, I would "snap it up"
