The Nikkor 16mm *f3.5* is a fisheye (that produces surprisingly
high image quality everywhere in the frame nearly wide open - it
is one of the best lenses I've ever seen of any FL, and it covers
170 degrees!) that was offered in both non-AI and AI versions
(optically identical - and a non-AI can be AI-modified for about
$30 by jtw3@aol.com). A further bit: infinity-focus is often
off a bit on these (goes beyong infinity), so you need to establish
the proper place on the lens to use as reference marker when
scale-focusing (often easier and/or more accurate with very short
lenses than AF or MF focusing...). BTW, this lens is one bang-up
performer on a TC14A converter, also, and it makes a very nice
super-wide with less curvature, but which is still "kind" in its
rendering of rounded subjects (like people...;-) compared with
super-wide rectangular-perspective lenses.
