No. 12-bit allows the use of a second stereo
audio track, but few people use this, so leave
the camcorder set for 16-bit (though you will
probably not hear the difference, given the level
of noise background and the frequency-response
limitations of the camcorder audio system...),
since the editing system will then not need to
convert 12-bit audio to 16-bit...
