The difference in lens speed is microscopic, so don't let that influence your decision. If MF, and money is not an issue, the
macro is more versatile, with about equal performance (both are
first-rate near infinity-focus, but the macro not only focuses
much closer, it is much better than the f2.5 near that lens'
closest-focus distance). With AF, the macro is good near infinity,
but difficult to manually focus due to a too-fast manual-focus
action (I have also seen a couple of these that were not well
aligned - probably related to the fast focus near infinity...).
