Hmmm, actually, for general use, I would recommend the AIS MF version.
It is more compact, is easier to focus near infinity (the AF focuses to
fast), and most samples I've tried of both types favor the MF over the AF
for infinity performance (though the MF goes to 1:2 and the AF goes to
1:1 without accessories, and due to optical design quirks, the AF
generally performs better in the 1:1-1:2 area - so, for macro specifically,
I would choose the AF, but for general use, I would choose the MF version).
