The VX-2000, TRV-9, and many other cameras are reviewed
(with frame grabs) on my web page (look under the "I
babble" index, near the end...). *In general*, a 3-chip
camera gives better image quality at the exposure extremes
in a scene (better highlight and shadow imaging) and better
overall sharpness with fewer negative picture artifacts.
The differences in good, or flat, light may be subtle,
especially if there is little movement, but in marginal
or wide-range lighting, especially with movement, the
differences i image quality can be quite obvious...
