No. I have shot a little footage with the VX-1000 at
a 30th when it helped color in low light, and it did
not look too bad, but 1/60th looks better (in enough
light) - smoother on diagonal contrasty edges, and
the picture was sharper... In general, the VX-1000
picture has the fewest edge "nasties" of all the
Mini-DV camcorders I've seen, though, so this would
help (it looks the most like analogue video to me...).
