Run two copies of the titles, one on V1, the other on V2.

With the one on V2, use "image matte" (using a graphic split

in the middle, with black in the bottom half, white in the

upper half as the matte [or the other way around - you can

reverse the matte tones in "transparency", if needed]). Also

use "motion" to move V2 to the left, with a background the

same color as the titles. At least with P-5, values of

"0" and ".5" keep the "motion" footage in the same place as

the non-"motion" footage - change the "0" value to move the

footage sideways...
