With the US version, it is a simple matter to connect the
audio RCAs and video RCA of the cable with 3 RCA connectors
at one end and the mini-plug (which goes into the camera)
at the other end to the VCR (use an "S" cable, if
possible,
instead of the video RCA). Between Mini-DV devices, use just
a FireWire cable for transfering the digital signal. You may
need to set a menu item for using the analogue connection on
the camera as input instead of output. In Europe, recording
to the camera may be blocked due to tax reasons (though
there are methods for changing this...).
